ABOUT US
The Public Affairs Department provides information about city functions, news, and activities. We facilitate city communications such as news releases, electronic media, LaceyLife, community meetings, and other public forums.
We provide citizens and community groups with direct access to their city government and assistance resolving problems. Our department responds to citizen questions and concerns that come to us through the We Care! forms, emails, phone calls, or in person.
Lacey Homeowner and Neighborhood Associations can find access to resources and information through the Public Affairs Department. We maintain a database of local contacts, publish a resource directory, and host information and networking meetings for association representatives. Public Affairs staff are available to help find answers and resources for organizing and maintaining these associations.
The Public Affairs Department manages grants and contract agreements for a variety of services and city facilities, including Animal Services, Thurston Community Television (TCTV), Comcast, and LeMay. The department can assist citizens in resolving escalated service challenges with contracting agencies.
New city programs initiated by Council are often incubated through this department. The WIN! Youth Program, Lacey Green Power Program, and other environmental initiatives are facilitated by the Public Affairs Department.
