VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

The Lacey Police Department is supported by a core group of dedicated volunteers consisting of the Explorer Post and Lacey Resource Officers.  Volunteers alone provided over 10,000 hours to the community in support of Lacey's public safety activities.  If you are interested in a future career in law enforcement, or would like to donate your time and talents in support of your community, you should consider the following:

Police Explorer:

For young men and women who are interested in careers in the field of law enforcement, this program offers training, activities, and invaluable experience while assisting the Lacey Police Department.  If you are  between the ages of 15 1/2 and 21, and are interested in joining the Police Explorers, please contact Officer Brian Dawes or Officer Rich Broeker at (360) 459-4333 for more information.

Lacey Resource Officer:

The Lacey Resource Officers are uniformed volunteers that are an essential part of the Lacey Police Department.  Lacey Resource Officers provide vacation house checks, support community events, supervise low risk inmates who pick up litter and clean up graffiti, patrol portions of City trails, assist Police Assistants with customer service, assist Investigation Division with processing fraud packets, and issue citations  for disabled parking violations.  If you are interested in joining the Lacey Resource Officer program, please visit Volunteer Opportunities for more details about the position.  Applications can be obtained from Human Resources or at the Police Department located at Lacey City Hall (420 College St SE).
