The City of Lacey’s budget is developed annually. The budget is a major planning and policy document that describes the funding sources for planned services and infrastructure improvements. The City provides a wide range of services, including police and fire protection, constructing and maintaining roads, recreation programs, maintenance of parks, health and social services, community development, and financial/administrative services.
The City is not alone operating during the continuing pandemic. COVID-19 is a heavy health burden, creating an uncertain economic environment. As the protective health measures continue, through the strength of the City’s fiscal policies, service levels are maintained and, in certain cases, enhanced. Compared to last year’s Total Budget, the 2022 Budget decreased by 8.7 percent, totaling $173,595,753. The total 2022 General Fund budget is $60,036,901, which is 0.6 percent lower than the 2021 amended budget.
